RESA ACADEMY

We're one of only 4 schools in the entire state of Georgia to be awarded Pay for Performance 2004!  And, we've earned it for the last SEVEN YEARS IN A ROW RESA Academy is located in Griffin, Georgia and is an alternative school for students in grades 6-12 who have gotten in trouble at their regular schools.  We offer these students the opportunity to continue earning credits toward graduation during their expulsion.

At RESA Academy, many students are finally able to succeed educationally.  We offer smaller classes, strict discipline, frequent communication with parents, classes to address behavior, and incentives like field trips.       

A few weeks ago we had a level five field trip to the Georgia Aquarium. The kids who were eligible to go had a very rewarding time.

We have wonderful and dedicated teachers who have chosen to work here to make differences in the lives of at-risk students.  We are also home to both the 2000 and 2003 Georgia Association for Alternative Education Teachers of the Year!

At the end of each semester, students may return to their regular schools if they are demonstrating appropriate behavior, passing their classes, and have been here for at least 18 weeks.
